Pressed for Pride: What Pride Means to Our Team

At Pressed, Pride isn’t just a month—it’s a mindset. This year, we’re turning up the volume on celebration, visibility, and hydration by teaming up with drag icon and queer trailblazer Trixie Mattel to debut a limited-edition Hydration+ Dragon Fruit Juice—dressed head to toe in custom Trixie glam.

But while the label is limited, our commitment to inclusion and community is not.

To spotlight the heart of our Pride campaign, we asked our very own Pressed team members what Pride means to them—beyond the glitter and the glam. Their stories speak to the joy, resilience, and authenticity that fuel our team and this campaign.

Here’s what they had to say.

“Pride is reclaiming what I once had to hide.”

Kalex Shen, Graphic Designer

“Growing up in China, I never saw positive queer representation. That made it hard to accept myself. and for a long time, I felt ashamed. Pride means reclaiming what I once had to hide and finally showing up as my full, authentic self. That's my Pride."

Kalex is celebrating Pride with his chosen queer family. “They’ve shown me that love is real, because I am full of love.” His shoutout goes to The Trevor Project for its life-saving support of LGBTQ+ youth. “Every queer kid deserves to feel safe and loved.”

“Team Pressed is sweet because of my team. This is my first job out of college, and I get to work with kind, talented, genuine people, who also happen to be my best friends."

And his favorite queer icon? Trixie Mattel, whose humor + bold self-expression helped open the door to his own journey of self-love.

“Pride is about showing up—and showing love.”

Blake Robichaux – Part-Time Shift Lead

"Pride is about showing up as our full, authentic selves—and knowing we’re not alone. [...] It’s a reminder to honor those who paved the way and to keep pushing forward with joy and intention."

Blake’s celebrating Pride in full-spectrum style this year: parties, parades, and peaceful moments with their partner and dog children. "It’s all about love, gratitude, and intentional joy."

Blake's Pride picks? The Trevor Project and OutCare Health, for making affirming, whole-body care accessible and leadership in LGBTQ+ mental and physical health access.

“At Pressed, it’s more than just juice—it’s a community that uplifts, supports, and celebrates individuality.”

And when it comes to icons? Blake’s inspired by Lainey Wilson, whose fearless authenticity is breaking barriers in country music and beyond.

“Pride reminds me that love wins.”

Jason Dilay – Director of People

“There’s nothing like the energy of Pride! It’s that incredible time when we get to celebrate being loud, proud, and our authentic selves. It’s pure joy being surrounded by community, color, music, and so much love—you can’t help but feel alive!”

Jason is celebrating this year with flowers + flair at An Evening Among the Roses at Huntington Gardens. He’s also giving a major shoutout to Gay for Good, a nonprofit connecting LGBTQ+ volunteers to community causes. "It’s such a great way to give back and build connections at the same time."

“What makes being on Team Pressed so sweet is being able to show up as my authentic self every day—and being surrounded by people who truly live the brand.”

And his favorite queer icon? Mary Griffith, whose journey from grief to advocacy has helped create life-saving change. "Her story is a reminder of how important compassion, listening, and allyship truly are."

“Pride is about identity, visibility, and living fully.”

Niki Repass – Executive Coordinator

“Pride is more than just a month—it’s a movement. It’s about visibility for queer folks living authentically and creating space for those still discovering who they are. It’s about community, acceptance, and standing up for equality. No matter where you are in your journey, you are not alone.”

Niki is celebrating with sparkle this year—attending Disneyland’s Pride Nite, Pride bingo, and plenty of drag shows throughout June. Her special shoutout goes to Lambda Quadrant, a queer-led philanthropic group Niki co-founded to uplift LGBTQ+ voices in sci-fi fandoms.

“The people at Pressed make it sweet. I get to work alongside kind, passionate humans who uplift one another and support every wellness journey.”

As for queer icons? This teammate finds inspiration in the everyday heroes: Trans youth living boldly. Queer folks stepping into their identity for the first time. Fierce families who support without conditions. And the chosen families who remind us what love looks like.”
